JStreet Couture

Growing up in a house where something was always being made I had the opportunity to try a whole range of arts and crafts – knitting, crochet, needle-point, lace making – I tried them all but dressmaking was the one I loved.

I spent years studying traditional couture techniques and finishes and in 2003 founded the JStreet Couture label to use these skills to create original, bespoke garments for individual clients. I love being able to work closely with each client to create the perfect outfit for them. Clients often come to me with pictures and ideas and even pieces from their own wardrobes that they love and want to use elements of in the new design. It’s a collaboration.

Every item I create is unique, individually cut and hand-finished and I often use vintage fabrics and details such as buttons so I can guarantee that every JStreet Couture garment is absolutely one-of-a-kind. In addition to my private clients I also do commercial work, working with stylists to create looks for photo-shoots and music videos. I have worked with milliner Elizabeth Parker to create the look for a national advertising campaign and have had my designs feature in magazines.
